What is Somatic Yin?
This is a space to slow down - to breathe, soften, and come back to yourself.
Somatic Yin weaves together long-held, floor-based poses with simple nervous system tools like breathwork, grounding, and gentle somatic techniques. It’s a trauma-informed, body-led practice that meets you exactly where you are.
There’s no pushing, no pressure. Just space to feel what’s here, and the support to move through it gently.
You’ll be guided with care, in a way that helps you feel safe in your body - maybe for the first time in a while.
FAQS
Your nervous system shapes how you respond to stress, pressure, or change - in your life, in your work, and in your relationships.
When it’s regulated, you can meet challenges from a place where you feel steady and present. When it’s dysregulated, you might feel anxious, reactive, spaced out, or shut down. Sometimes those patterns become so familiar, we don’t even realise we’re stuck in them.
This practice helps your body come out of survival states (like fight, flight, freeze or fawn) and return to a more grounded baseline. It’s not about controlling your emotions - it’s about supporting your body to move through stress instead of getting trapped in it.
Why combine Yin Yoga with somatic work?
Yin creates stillness and space in the body which is something most of us rarely give ourselves. It helps soften long-held tension and gives you time to tune in and reconnect. That space can reveal what’s going on underneath - physically, emotionally, energetically.

Alongside that, I integrate somatic tools like orienting, grounding, breath-work, tapping, and more - techniques that support your nervous system to come back into balance.

Together, they allow you to slow down, feel what’s present, and give your body what it needs to release, regulate, and restore.
I’ve never tried yoga before - can I do this?
Yes, you don’t need any experience. The movements are simple, and everything is guided in a way that helps you feel safe and supported.

I create a welcoming and down-to-earth space. This is a great place to start if you’re curious.
What if I find it hard to slow down or be alone with my thoughts?
That’s one of the reasons this practice is so powerful.
If you’re someone who avoids stillness or finds it hard to be with yourself, this isn’t about forcing anything. You won’t be asked to do anything that doesn’t feel safe in your body - and that includes how long you stay in a pose, whether you close your eyes, or how much you engage.
We take a gentle approach that honours where your nervous system is at. Over time, this builds your capacity to be with yourself in a way that feels grounding, not overwhelming.

What do I need to bring?
Yes. Private sessions are great if you want more individual support.
We work with where your nervous system is at - looking at what might be stuck or dysregulated and use tailored practices to help your body regulate and learn how to come back to balance on its own.
This can be a powerful space if you’re navigating something specific or want to deepen your self-awareness.
